In the midst of a pandemic, where the world seemed to slow down, something unexpected happened—Matt and Liz found each other (on dating app Hinge that is). Liz was new to dating apps and had just moved from Los Angeles to Seattle so she joined Hinge as a way to meet friends.
Their first meeting was a little unconventional too. Her first date with Matt would be the first time she would meet someone from the “internet” in person – so she obviously brought her friends with her just in case Matt was a serial killer (she watches way too many crime documentaries). Matt, being the good sport he is, agreed to a group date and also brought his friends. While she still argues it was just a group hangout, Matt insists it was their first date.
That night, something clicked between them. It was clear they were interested in each other as more than just friends, but decided to take things slow (or as Liz says, she was “playing it cool”). For the next year, they built a strong friendship that eventually blossomed into something more.
Fast forward to today, and their lives are filled with love and a bit of chaos—in the best way possible. They now reside in Seattle with a beautiful baby girl, who was the most wonderful (and scariest) surprise they could have imagined. And of course, their family wouldn't be complete without their dog, Churro, and cat Bubba.
